I’m not even going to attempt to comment on any of the insanity coming out of the White House at the moment. The fact that the president has seized the narrative. Or the fact that the Democrats are lost, fighting amongst themselves, allowing others to define who they are. Or that the Republican party chooses not only to remain silent about the President’s racist remarks but also to go on the attack, viciously (and perplexingly) calling Democrats “anti-American?”

Enough.

What seems to have been long forgotten is that you don’t get elected…to be re-elected again. This isn’t a popularity contest. You get elected to serve the people; to make tough decisions that can bring unity and strength to the nation.

We need a reset.
